Disclosure Policy
Valid from May 2015
This is a personal blog written and edited by me.
A Little Bit of Background:
I am not a professional writer. I am not a professional reviewer. I just like to read (a lot) and share my
opinions about the books I read; whether they make sense or not.
Why I Need a Disclosure:
I’m a person. I
have a family. Like most people who have
families, I need to contribute to the monetary stream that flows through our
household. While I do have a part-time
job, I am always looking for ways to increase our family income. That being said, I do place affiliate links
from the Amazon Associates program in my posts as well as Google AdSense ads on
my sidebar. If you click on a link
within one of my posts and proceed to purchase the item you are directed to
(typically a book, song, or movie), I will get a percentage of that sale.
Also,
From time to time I will get book recommendations from
authors I follow on Twitter. I will read
their books. But my opinion is in no way
affected by that recommendation or by that fact that I follow them on
Twitter. My opinion is just that – Mine.
For the two reasons stated above, I have a duty to
disclose this information in an area where all my readers have easy access to
it. Plus, the FTC requires it and I am
doing my best in covering my ass.
Consider yourself disclosed.
What You Need To Know:
I only link to products that are related to the subject
of that current post. For example, if I
am writing about the book Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, I am going to link
to the product page for Poison Princess by Kresley Cole. If I mention any other related product – be in
another book, a song, movie, etc. – I will link that product to its respectable
product page. It’s as simple as that.
If things change in the future (I stop linking products
or I add another form of affiliate marketing on here) then my Disclosure Policy
will be updated accordingly.
In Which We Discuss Being Polite:
I try to be polite and respectful of Authors and their
books while I am sharing my opinions. In
turn I ask that all my readers, be equally as respectful and polite when
commenting. I understand we all have our
opinions and they are not always going to be the same – I just ask that you
express your opinions in a tactful manner.
As the owner of this blog, I retain the right to remove
any offensive and/or “mean” comments.
